Pros: Car was nice, location convenient, rental rate was good.
Cons: Agent was impersonal bordering on rude. I had purchased full insurance coverage through DiscoverCars, only to find that Europcar required that I buy full insurance from them or they would charge a $14,000 deposit to my credit card.

Pros: No one was present at the Europcar office in the center of Merida. The office is supposed to be open 9-5. After repeated phone calls someone finally showed up at 10:30.

Pros: Easy process for pick up and drop off
Cons: Smooth process and Europcar were good to deal with. I had seen the warnings but they gave our car away as we were 40 minutes after the predicted pick up time and so had to pay extra for an upgrade (they gave our car away). Getting the timing exactly right can be a challenge given there are things outside control (hotel checkout etc)
