Drivalia at Belfast International Airport

Cons: Very bad experience.We booked a 9-seater car in March and picked it up on site. The staff told us that there were only 7-seater cars and no 9-seater cars. They also said that they had notified the Discover Cars booking platform. We booked this car because we needed a 9-seater car. It was temporarily changed, which caused us great trouble. There was no compensation mechanism. We seriously suspect that the car company oversold, which is a very bad behavior.

Pros: Tony on the front desk was excellent, car option also excellent.

Cons: Hard and intense sale pitch when we arrived for lowering excess cover when we had already paid extra cover online.Yet they failed to find this information. Had to spend an additional £120!!!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: We were blamed for timings and they gave our car away so we had to hire another more expensive car which they tried to overcharge us for. It ended up being 3 times what I originally purchased for. Felt conned. Never using their service again. Car was left with debris in the centre console. Car screaming for a service. Very laggy ride.

Pros: Tony was very friendly and helpful

Cons: We had to wait quite a long time for the shuttle to pick us up

Pros: Tony was brilliant but as he was the only one at the reception, the car collection was slow. Actually took over an hour

Cons: Thought it a bit odd that it was advertised as a "meet and greet" - nobody met me - I had to phone to book a pickup. No biggie.

Pros: False advertising. Is not meet and greet which I had arranged as I have a family member who need special assistance. Had to walk to long term car park to get a shuttle despite telling them my mum has walking difficulties. A faff on drop off about an old sticker which had historically been on the car. Keeps your £1500 deposit for 2 weeks after you drop back. Shuttle driver on drop off was kind enough to drop us into the airport rather than the long term car park

Cons: On return argument of damage on rear bumper. If the rep had checked photos from collection he would have saw it was damaged when I picked it up

Pros: Aside from the main issue, the car was fine although it stunk of cigarette smoke, was clean otherwise.

Cons: Completely miss old/scammed.

Cons: In would have welcomed being able to e-mail about pick up from airport. I came from overseas and my phone was behaving strangely after changing over SIM card, so had to call using Skype. However, solution was provided!

Pros: Great value, lovely car, great staff, quick pick up and drop off, quick shuttle to airport

Cons: Agent on collection of car - Alex at Belfast office was rude and abrasive - very poor customer service. Was very relieved not to be dealing with him when returning car.

Pros: Friendly service with no waiting around. Shuttle bus was prompt and hand over of the hired car was quick.

Pros: Rude staff, who tried the very hard sale on extra insurance. When l told him l had already purchased insurance he told it was useless and that it wouldn't count as only they could gove insurance for the car, he told me that je had just sold extra insurance to the last customer because he didn't know that Discover insurance was null and void. Was really put out when l wouldn't buy it. Didn't give me the paperwork to show previous damage or fuel levels, " thats not our policy"

Cons: When l took the car back he "found" a scratch on the bumper, we had a massive argument about it. I told him l had taken a video of the car on the day l picked it up, which l would send to the insurance company so the could see the damage was previous. He then told me to sign a form, l said l wanted a copy of it was told "thats not out policy" when l took a picture of it he slapped the phone out of my hand and cracked the screen. The guy was drunk or high. I am getting the police involved

Pros: Shane was there for pickup and drop-off. He was attentive and friendly. Amazing service

Cons: It was a bit of a wait for the pick up from arrivals to get to the office

Cons: My issue is not so much with Drivalia and moreso with Discover Cars. It was not made clear from the outset when booking that this location is quite a way from the airport and required a taxi shuttle service. The service was efficient overall but this is not my preferred option when travelling and I would not have booked has this been made transparent from the outset.

Pros: Nice friendly staff on arrival

Cons: Drop off and waiting too long for a taxi back to the airport. They used one shuttle car which meant people were waiting a long time.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: Required counterpart of license, utility bill and a bank statement to be able to get the car. I didn't have the counterpart to my license with me so they wouldn't release the car. They also stated that they could have called DVA to check my license over the phone but they were closing soon so they wouldn't and then proceeded to refuse to release the car. They need to state (clearly) what is required to hire a vehicle. The rental site itself is a 10 minute drive from the airport.

Cons: The transfered me to a bunch of Latvian crooks in Dublin who refused to hand the keys over unless I payed £220 more .

Pros: the company was a couple of minutes from the airport but they made it easy for pick up and drop off. The representatives were very easy to deal with.

Cons: there was nothing i didnt like

Pros: The actual time with them was efficient and easy. If I had know before time that they were off site and that it required a taxi to and from their base it might have been ok

Cons: I wasn’t made aware of the location off site. If you are with a child they have to sit on your knee for a couple of miles to the car rental place

Pros: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!This is by far the worse car rental company I have ever used with the worse customer service I have ever come across! They are doing nothing more than scamming customer and each and every person who went there suffered the same fate! I cannot imagine that they have any repeat business what so ever.

Cons: When you turn up at the office you are effective captive there as it is on an isolated estate and you would struggle to get away from there. From this point you will be told that any insurance you have purchased with the third party company you have booked with us effectively worthless as they will require a £1500 hold on your credit card if there is so much as a scratch to the car they will take this amount and you will then have to claim it back through the 3rd party.

Pros: The collection process and the driver both ways were brilliant and very professional.

Cons: The service upon dropping the car off had much to be desired as the agent caused unnecessary stress before going for our flight.

Pros: It was cheaper than the other car hire places.

Cons: It was a bit awkward that the pick-up wasn't at the airport (although I guess that's why it's cheaper) especially travelling on your own. The person I dealt with at collection was very abrupt and actually quite rude. It sounds silly, but he made me wait until exactly 5 o'clock to get the car, which just felt a bit pointless sitting waiting for 10mins when the car was there! The car was fine for a rental, but was a bit dirty inside. The windscreen wipers need replaced and windscreen cleaned.

Cons: Nothing was good. Our plane landed 10 min late in Belfast and the Drivalia rep told us the office was already closed at 17.30 ! He told us we could pick up the car next day...but the rental was cancelled ! Total failure !

Cons: The so called meet and greet service at Belfast is a joke. There is a single person ferrying people to the shop which is an 8 minute drive away to somewhere remote. This is important because once there you are stranded and entirely at their mercy. So when they reveal that you have to buy their additional insurance which costs more than your car hire (£125 for 4 days) you cant leave to find a different agency The aggressive agent said I would have zero insurance without paying this extra charge

Pros: Car was excellent, and the drop off was very easy and efficient. Dropped back to the airport straight away.

Cons: A lot of time spent at the rental office due to not really understanding the insurance policy. Wasn’t explained very well but we got there in the end.

Cons: Rude horrible staff shouting at another customer telling them to get a life when they wouldn’t take out additional Insurance really unpleasant to witness I was appalled
