Despite its name, British is not a player in the car rental market of the United Kingdom, but can instead be found in Northern Cyprus, the Turkish-speaking part of the island of Cyprus where it serves North Nicosia (known as Lefkosa in Turkish) and Ercan International Airport, the main port of entry for the international visitors of Northern Cyprus.
British Rent a Car is highly rated by our customers. In fact, it has won our Excellent Car Rental Service Award for multiple years in a row both for Ercan Airport and Kyrenia (known as Girne in Turkish).
The company doesn’t allow its vehicles to be driven to the south part of the island (the Greek-speaking part) because its insurance company doesn’t cover the vehicles there. They will gladly arrange a taxi for you if you’d like to visit the southern part of Cyprus. Alternatively, you can cross the border on foot and rent a different car on the other side.
