Occasionally stylized in all caps, Advance is a notable company when it comes to renting a vehicle in Australia, specifically the country’s second-largest city and one of its main tourist hubs, Melbourne. The company shouldn’t be confused with the similarly named Advanced Car Rental which is based in Lebanon.

Advance doesn’t allow its vehicles to be driven outside of the state of Victoria. So if you’re planning to travel to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, or other cities as part of your trip, then you’ll need to search for a different rental company. Also be aware that you need to purchase a Snow Pass in advance to be able to travel above the snowline in the mountains.
