Shuttle Transfers”. Carry on until you reach the Off-Site Transfer Area. Once you have arrived, please
follow the sign “Shuttle 5 & 6” and wait at Shuttle Lane 5 for your collection

For off-hours pick-up (6:01 PM – 7:59 AM): If collecting the vehicle outside business hours, contact +64 92 800 470 in advance to arrange for pick-up. Ensure sufficient funds are available on the provided credit card for the rental amount, which will be charged the working day before the rental. All off-hours pickups must be prearranged. Upon arrival at Auckland Airport, contact Aripark (Heartland Hotel).

Once you have collected your luggage, Please call us on 09 257 0992 . Our courtesy shuttle will pick you up from the Airport. Please look out for a marked Park and Fly shuttle bus.
Exit the main terminal and make your way to the Transport Pickup Zone where the shuttle marked 'Park N Fly' will collect you. The covered walkway begins directly opposite the international arrivals area with clear signage to guide you to the transport pick-up zone. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes.

Pourquoi louer une voiture à Auckland ?
Auckland, surnommée la "City of Sails", abrite 1,7 million d'habitants soit près d'un tiers de la population néo-zélandaise. Lors de mes passages répétés à Auckland, j'ai appris qu'une qu’avoir son propre véhicule transforme complètement votre découverte de cette métropole, dont la beauté réside surtout dans ses environs.
Cette ville unique s'étend entre deux ports naturels, et croyez-moi, les transports publics ne vous mèneront pas aux endroits les plus spectaculaires que j'ai pu découvrir dans la région !
Auckland s'étale sur une superficie énorme - plus de 1000 km² ! Pendant mes séjours, j'ai vite compris qu'être véhiculé était indispensable pour explorer convenablement la région. Les transports en commun existent mais restent limités pour accéder aux plages de la côte ouest, aux vignobles de Waiheke Island (après le ferry), ou aux forêts de kauri du nord.
La ville est construite sur un isthme entre deux ports, ce qui crée une géographie complexe. Sans voiture, vous passerez à côté des magnifiques plages de sable noir de Piha, des vignobles de Kumeu, ou encore des randonnées dans les Waitakere Ranges. J'ai découvert certains de mes spots préférés grâce à cette liberté de mouvement.

L'aéroport international d'Auckland (AKL) est le principal point d'entrée en Nouvelle-Zélande, situé à 25 kilomètres au sud du centre-ville. Cet aéroport accueille des vols directs depuis l'Europe, l'Asie, l'Australie et les îles du Pacifique.
Toutes les compagnies de location internationales sont présentes : Avis, Hertz, Budget, Europcar, ainsi que des locales comme Go Rentals ou Ace Rental Cars. Je recommande fortement de réserver à l'avance, surtout entre décembre et février (été néo-zélandais). Le trajet vers le centre prend 30-45 minutes selon le trafic.
Données sur la ville
Auckland jouit d'un climat océanique tempéré avec des étés doux (décembre-février, 20-25°C) et des hivers plutôt cléments (juin-août, 10-15°C). La ville est bâtie sur 48 volcans éteints, ce qui lui donne ce relief vallonné si caractéristique que j'adore.
Particularité intéressante : Auckland possède plus de bateaux par habitant que n'importe quelle autre ville au monde ! La culture maritime y est omniprésente, et vous comprendrez vite pourquoi en découvrant ses deux magnifiques ports naturels.
Principales attractions et activités
La Sky Tower (328m) offre une vue panoramique époustouflante sur la ville et ses environs - parfait pour s'orienter ! Le Viaduct Harbour regorge de restaurants et bars avec vue sur le port.
Ne ratez pas Mount Eden, cratère volcanique d'où j'ai admiré certains des plus beaux couchers de soleil de ma vie. Mission Bay et Devonport offrent des promenades agréables en bord de mer.
Côté nature, les Waitakere Ranges regorgent de sentiers de randonnée menant aux plages sauvages de la côte ouest. Waiheke Island (30 min en ferry) vous séduira avec ses vignobles et ses plages paradisiaques.
Circulation et stationnement
Bonne nouvelle : Auckland reste bien plus facile à naviguer que Sydney ! Le trafic peut être dense aux heures de pointe (7h-9h et 17h-19h), surtout sur les ponts reliant les différentes parties de la ville. J'ai appris à éviter Harbour Bridge à ces moments-là.
Le stationnement dans le CBD coûte environ 3-5$ de l'heure. Beaucoup de centres commerciaux offrent 2-3 heures gratuites. Attention aux zones résidentielles : certaines limitent le stationnement à 2 heures pour les non-résidents.
Les routes à péage
Contrairement à l'Australie, la Nouvelle-Zélande a très peu de routes à péage. Seules quelques sections récentes comme la Northern Gateway (2,60$) et le Tauranga Eastern Link vous concerneront si vous explorez au-delà d'Auckland.
Idées d'excursions
Bay of Islands (3h30) : berceau de la Nouvelle-Zélande avec ses 144 îles et sa riche histoire maorie.
Coromandel Peninsula (2h30) : plages dorées, sources chaudes naturelles et ambiance décontractée.

Les paysages sont magnifiques. Nous avons eu l'occasion d'aller dans de très bons restaurants. Par contre, les activités sont très chères mais heureusement que vous avez la possibilité de faire pas mal d'activités gratuites. Dans l'ensemble le voyage s'est bien déroulé.

La voiture louée permet de vivre pleinement l’expérience néo-zélandaise bien que certains équipements ne soient pas utilisables si l’on ne comprend pas le japonais.

La voiture n’est pas utile à Auckland. Nous nous sommes seulement servi de la voiture pour faire des courses dans le grand mall à l’extérieur d’Auckland. Il faut louer un hôtel en centre-ville et prendre un Uber si nécéssaire pour visiter le zoo et l’aquarium. En revanche la voiture est indispensable pour faire le circuit de l’île du Nord.
