Land of the dinosaurs meets home counties, England! Lava flow beaches, cloud topped mountains, dripping forests of tree ferns, thermal pools of all varieties, steam rising from the ground, even out of walls along the roadside; all to be found amongst green fields, herds of cows and seemingly infinite numbers of hydrangeas. Warm but not ridiculously hot; good weather but not always consistent. Relaxed, friendly, accessible but not touristy.
