Avia Rent A Car at Zadar Airport

Cons: I had a bad experience with Avia in Zadar. They refused full insurance for a 4-day rental, so I had to pay €130 for third-party insurance on the cheapest car. The fuel tank was not really full even though they said it was, and they charged me €12 for cleaning even though the car was only a little dusty.(see photo what condition was the car when returned).

Pros: Clean and new vehicle

Cons: Long delay on collection, and demand to clean vehicle inside and outside before return

Pros: The drop off was quick and easy. The car was modern and the air con worked.

Cons: They charged me €50 for out of hours pick up. This fee was not stated anywhere in the contract.

Pros: Staff were very helpful and approachable. I dealt with Manuel Jakovac. Very nice chap. Helpful, friendly and listened to and answered all my queries.

Pros: friendly staff working there, no ‘pushy’ upselling and made us feel relaxed and at ease with the pick up and drop off of car. On a few reviews we noticed that some customers complained about returning the car clean on the inside and outside or there would be an additional cleaning charge, however this was explained to us upfront and we were offered a choice to pay an additional 9 euros before taking the car so we didn’t worry about returning the car clean… all in all excellent value for money!

When they finished with them they just left even though they said they would come over. I then went to the desk and was told to wait by car for 2 mins and someone would be with me. After another 20 mins stood in 35 degs heat they turned up! Not good

Pros: Nothing special to like, they are thieves, marked a small scratch before we picked up and when returning back, the you gangster went straight to the spot they knew was scratched below the bumper. They targeting 1 or 2 out of 10 to get profit of those car which are brand new.

Cons: Nothing at all after this disgusting experience. Please avoid this company at all cost, they are sham. Car was dirty outside when we received it, so you cannot check any small scratches properly . Even we found one scratch on the mirror passenger side, thanks God ! They may go for even further rip off. If the car is new why we found the scratch and was not written on their sketch form?!! They have changed our mind about the trip we took to this beautiful country. Disgusting experience

Pros: Good price and car conditions.

Cons: Charged 40 Eur for car drop off one day earlier (during company working time). They said it is an agreement modification fee. However, such fee wasn't in the terms and conditions. Thanks, DiscoverCars.com for quickly solving the claim.

Pros: Easy to collect and drop off, car was spotless and checked over with us before we drove away. Friendly staff.

Cons: Only down side is you have to leave a large deposit pending on a card and it takes up to 30 days to "unblock"

Cons: They seemed desperate to find a mark on the car to charge me for. They checked the car over with a fine tooth comb, even more so than when I’ve returned lease cars. Thankfully there were no marks on the car to charge me for.

Cons: There was a long wait because the group in front had an issue with their card. This was understandable as there was only a single member of staff on a Sunday evening.

Cons: I was charged 155 euros for a scuff on a wheel. Fairly confident I didn’t do it and it would have polished out. I’m sure the next person will have to pay if they don’t spot it. Also on my return another renter was being charged 40 euros for a late pickup because his plane was delayed!!!

Pros: The cost was competitive and simple process once at the airport.

Cons: On dropping the car off, one representative told us the fuel wasn’t full. On leaving our villa we filled the car up and drove the 100km to the airport. Just outside the airport we then topped up the car again to full. The gauge was clearly showing full as it was full. Just felt this was an unnecessary thing by the representative to try and scam us. When challenged, he did not continue, especially when we asked if he would like to see the receipts.

Cons: They charged me for crossing the Neum corridor 80 Euros. The rest of companies charge nothing or only 30 Euros. In the agreements was said that I must ask. When I asked I got the surprise and I couldn't negotiate. They tried to charged my for a damage in a wheel, that it was clear that it was old one. Very bad situation, almost not respectful from the personal. I will never recommend Avia
