Avia Rent A Car at Pula Airport

Pros: Ease of use

Pros: Nice new car. Clean on the inside not the outside at pickup.

Cons: Asked for a cleaning fee at drop off as the outside was dirty. Relented very quickly when I advised her it was picked up in that condition.

Pros: The car was pretty new and clean. The airport agents were helpful.

Cons: I was shocked to be charged £12 for "cleaning"! The car wasn't filthy, it had just had us getting in and out of it for 2 weeks so there marks on the floor mats etc. These hire car companies always add on extras!

Cons: The car was smaller than the one on offer via the website. I was told it was in the same class but having viewed the VW model before ordering, our Vauxhall was much smaller

Pros: Clean car, site on airport.

Cons: Took a long time at the desk on pick up car. We were charged a fee to clean the car, 12 euros, even though it wasn’t dirty, there was some surface dirt on the carpet in the front, but it had rained and there was no way to avoid putting our feet on the carpet on the day of return. They expected the car to be in pristine condition and that is unreasonable.The price of cleaning the car should be in the price of rental.

Cons: Avis service desk staff were terrible and should not be working in the car hire industry.

Pros: Not much, that evening every single customer was charged €50 our of hours charge despite there is no mention of it on my voucher

Cons: Car booked for 21:00, arrived at desk 21:03 and charged €50 (out of hours) charge for being 3 minutes late, due to flight being 15 minutes late.

Pros: Cheap rental. Acceptable car. Nice, helpful staff.

Cons: No info on cleaning fee or what acceptable cleanliness entails. More information on the standards of damage as I would have been more meticulous at pick-up if I knew.

Pros: Nothing really, when I arrived the car wasn't ready. Then I had to pay for avias own insurance, even though I was fully covered through my online booking, as I was driving from pula to split (around 800km) I needed the car. I think they may have played on this, so I had to pay an additional 432 euro, not the best start to a holiday !! The car itself was in ok condition and generally clean

Pros: Efficient friendly staff, we were given an upgrade, car clean and in good condition.

Cons: Unsure where to park car on return other customers had the same problem

Pros: A very smooth rental with everything explained. Super easy return and very good quality car which was even a higher spec than I chose on the rental website

Cons: There was a bit of a delay picking up the car, not entirely the agents fault as three flights came in at the same time.

Pros: Tarik was great, really friendly and although there’s a few steps to the hiring process does this as efficiently as possible. There wasn’t any spaces left in the correct place for drop off but the team took over and relocated the car for us. My sister’s family also hired from Avia, both cars were well maintained and good quality. They operate a full to full fuel policy which is much easier to manage and we would always go back to them if we go back to Croatia.

Cons: Discovering that the supposed ‘full cover’ insurance that I’d bought from Discover Cars wasn’t what it should have been..

Cons: 35euro reactivation of rental charge. I should have read the t&c’s more closely. 35euro charge for essentially clicking a button on a computer feels like daylight robbery.

Pros: They were friendly and helpful both at collection and drop off. When we had a problem, they were a little stand offish because the insurance wasn’t purchased through them, but they were helpful enough to get it resolved.

Cons: When we had a problem out of hours, it took a fair bit of tenacity to find the right number and get through to someone. Who could help.

Cons: Blocked deposit on my credit card will take 1 month to be refunded...I don't remember seeing that when I ordered it. More importantly , there was something wrong with the steering of this car and when described when handing back, the agent put it down to the lane-changing alert...hmmm. When I'd mentioned to him I'd turned this off right at the beginning of the hire, this did not appear to matter.

Pros: Friendly staff, didn’t use the hardsell tactics for extras. Took time in pointing out the existing bumps, scratches etc.

Cons: The petrol tank was supposed to be full but the gouge was at least half a cm off - I happened to notice it, it was not pointed out to me. The car was a Skoda (I requested Golf). There was some rubbish underneath the seats.

Cons: When dropping car off I had to go into arrivals lounge to find someone, but that was very minor issue.
