Pros: None of the good experience with Thrifty Staff. My customer satisfaction is ZEERO towards Thrifty Staff at pickup counters. There were only two counters releasing DOLLAR & THRIFTY. There should have been at least 5 to 6 working counters in future to reduce pick up time to 10 minutes for each customer.

Cons: I did not get my money’s worth of car rental service from THRIFT.

Pros: Was very good, I got the car I reserved, no extra charges, very quick pick and drop, the car was clean, the tires in good condition, everything was perfect...

Cons: Only one thing regarding desk location in Newark, the P2 building is under renovation and the desk is now located in P3 building, no clear indication about this change was mentioned in the website...

Pros: Easy return, car was clean enough.

Cons: They basically force you to get the EZ Pass if you are traveling in the North East otherwise you get charged a bunch of extra fees at locations where they don't have cash pay options. So there is essentially no way to avoid extra fees either way and it is clear they know this and they exploit it in order to make you pay $20 a day more. It's pretty awful.

Cons: Temporary location...difficult to roll luggage over cracked and raised sidewalk and up the ramp the trailer-office. Can't wait until they have a permanent spot inside the terminal.

Pros: The rep was overall kind.

Cons: When you arrive you are in the same line with another rental car company waiting for them to be helped. The car smelled like an old ashtray upon pickup. I was told I had my choice of this or paying more for 3 other cars. After leaving and reaching 40 mph and braking the car vibrates and sounds very loud. The brakes are warped. Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), State Tax, Surcharges.
Rate excludes
Many highways in USA are tolled using only electronic means.
An E-Toll is offered in order to avoid violation fees.
The option to prepay tolls is available for 9.99 USD to 27.99 USD per day depending on the travel area.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 25 years.
A Young driver fee is not applied.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
An International Driving Permit is required (in addition to your regular driver license) if the national driver license is not written in the following language(s): English.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, for rates that include Fuel Purchase Option the first tank of gas is included. Customers do not have to refuel the vehicle prior to return.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 62 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
