Pros: I was very disappointed with my rental experience. Shortly after picking up the vehicle, a warning message appeared, and I had concerns about the car's condition. Instead of enjoying my vacation, I had to spend time dealing with the issue and contacting support. The next day, I was forced to return to the SIXT office to exchange the vehicle, which disrupted my travel plans and wasted valuable vacation time. Pros: No positive words, took several hours to arrange a recovery truck and we were stuck on a narrow road with lots of traffic
Cons: Slow recovery service, unable to offer 4wd SUV replacement. Was told there was a cross border charge Austria- west Germany. At the desk I queried this and was told the charge would be removed. Dashboard maintenance spanner was in warning mode. Advised by the desk that the vehicles are not kept long and the maintenance spanner eluminated on the dashboard was irrelevent. Desk was not interested in understanding our claim for the taxi fare( the recovery truck dropped up off at a railway station)

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: € 950.00), Contract fee, Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Road tax, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
For vehicles in groups Economy, Compact, Standard, Intermediate, Minivan, Fullsize a driver license issued at least 2 years ago is required.
For vehicles in groups Luxury, Premium, SUVs, Special a driver license issued at least 3 years ago is required.
Driver licenses from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if no visa has been entered in the passport.
All non-EU residents staying in the EU for longer than 6 months must present a driving licence from an EU country.
Licences issued in Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, China, Costa Rica, Djibouti, El Salvador, Gabon, Guadeloupe, Kosovo, La Réunion, Libya, Martinique, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nepal, New Caledonia, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Samoa, St. Lucia, Sudan, Tanzania, Yemen, Belize, Eswatini, Suriname, Afganistan, Colombia, Grenada, Mauritania, Indonesia, Bolivia, Mayotte, Vanuatu, Virgin Islands US, Bermuda, North Korea, Dominica, Eritrea, Cook Island, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Tonga, Gambia, Guinea, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Burundi are not accepted.

For driver licenses from countries not party to the International Driving Permit treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license. Learner's permits are not accepted; a full driver's license is required.

By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 01.11 to 15.04. Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.

Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 59 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
