Oscar Rent A Car at Ercan Airport

Cons: the car was too old for a rental car. more than 10 years old and more than 200,000 km on the clock. without cruise control or radio. This is the worst car I have rented so far.

Pros: Kind to show us the way to the gas station and easy car drop.

Cons: Old smelly car, not trustworthy with two yellow lamps blinking for the entire time. Getting a car in the dark with no fuel in it. Called them 3 times until the agent arrived who was supposed to be at the airport when we leave it when we in fact waited there for 45 minutes. No go!

Cons: Beaten up car. Engine control light on since handover. Almost flat tires, front suspension questionable.

Cons: We order and paid for a large saloon, and were given a small hatchback, a replacement car was delivered only after intervention from a local Turkish speaking friend. The replacement car was bigger, but was in terrible condition, the handbrake didn’t hold the car, the horn didn’t work, the brakes were poor and I didn’t feel that that car was wholly road worthy. I cannot recommend Oscar to other travellers, I don’t know how they have such a good rating.

Cons: No service from Oscar Rent a Car at airport. They have to drive from somewhere offsite. No accommodation for us after we experienced a delay due to our airline causing a misconnection. Car looked terrible. So frustrating that we didn’t accept the car and changed to a different provider.

Cons: Oscar did not have an office at the airport which meant finding the rep very difficult and frustrating. Rep was ab bit rude and rushed. Car was not as expected (much lower quality) and had huge dent and zero fuel.

They gave us a 2nd car and they left the car rental place before us it was then I noticed we had no dip just full beam and 180km worth of fuel and the 12v cigarette lighter didn’t work so we couldn’t use sat nav. We called a mechanic who didn’t come we called again he adjusted the lights in the dash and tried to say that it was fixed. T

Cons: I’m a driving instructor so I knew this was not fixed. We had running lights and full beam but no dip so we couldn’t drive the car at night for the entire holiday. Never hire a car from this company they only have death traps and don’t want to help when there’s a problem. As for dropping the car off they didn’t show up so we had to park outside there office and leave the keys on the table. Joke I of a firm and none of the employees have a clue. Do not rent from these people use BRISK

Pros: Staff member friendly and on time to meet us. Experience let down by condition of car. Multiple dents, scrapes, both front and rear bumpers loose. Inside of car not particularly clean. Pick up at night so car park needs better lighting to check these things over. Booked a Kia Ceed or similar, got an i10 so a little small.

Cons: The guy was over half an hour late, and then didn’t have any of the paperwork ready, needed another half hour for that.

Pros: The drop off guy waited for me on arrival to airport and he helped me with my luggage.

Cons: All their cars are busted, scratched, hit damaged, knackered, I ended up with 3 different cars. 1st had electrical malfunction, broke down on me few times, second one was smaller than what I paid for and the car wouldn’t respond to the key properly and at times wouldn’t start the car, the 3rd one was the best out of the three, engine and damage wise but the breaks was not good at all. I rented a Mazda 3 and didn’t even sniff 1 let alone see one. I ended up with a Kia ceed, Suzuki swift + Nissan.

Cons: Terrible customer service. Stay away from Oscar car rental. After waited 1,5 hours to pick up our rental, car came with an empty tank, gas did not even last to take us to gas station, we needed to to push the car to get to station. Called the company but nobody picked up our call. It was like a nightmare. Never Oscar car rental again. Also a/c was not working at all, passenger side glass was broken, Oscar rental refused to fix the car or offered us another car. Such a terrible experience.

Cons: Car conditions were not good. No GPS, USB charging port not working; rep said the fuel price on Greek side of Cyprus was cheaper; but it turned out the opposite! Mileage of the car is very high over 150 kicks!

Pros: Unfortunately I didnt like any of the services they provided, rentals are supposed to be new cars so the customer feels safe and secure we got old and damaged cars which I feel I got robbed of my money.

Cons: Long walk to pick-up car. Car was handed over to us with petrol empty light flashing!! Car was dangerously under-powered (engine needed a good service). No introduction to car or walk-around check either on pick-up or drop off. Nobody to hand the car too on return (told to just leave the keys under the mat)! So nobody to complain too. Compared to other more professional car hire companies this was one of the worst I've used.

Cons: Agency provided a crapy car. It was not the car i booked, ans it was hit in many places and they refused to change it as they said they don’t have anything available.

Pros: Vehicle cut out 30 to 40 time from airport to Kyrenia, phoned Oscar car manager who was extremely helpful and professional in sorting out the issue, providing another vehicle in exchange, had a puncture 3 hours before departure and the manager again promptly dealt with it - excellent service

Pros: Rep and Oscar office worked with us to allow for credit card payment in Girne, instead of at airport. Rep was very nice and so was the Oscar office. Return of vehicle was super easy.

Cons: Rep did not have a credit card machine and requested payment in cash. Oscar allowed this, but we had to drive to Girne and locate the office to pay. It was lucky we were staying in Girne, otherwise, this would have been a problem.
