MEX RENT A CAR at Puerto Vallarta Airport

Pros: honestly, not much.

Cons: major upsell, blamed discoverycar.com for the need for the major upsell, were not too friendly and the dropping off car fiasco seemed like a shake down. Email me if you want details as its too much to write down for now.

Pros: They only had a one man to revive the cars back, same guys inspected the car with new clients and was also the driver to and from the airport. We lost 1 hour dropping our rental

Cons: Hidden charges you aren't told about up front.

Pros: It was a terrible service specialist for the employee and the supervisor. Total robe and lack of respect.

Pros: Customer service very good. Explain types option. give me upgrade on the vehicle side. All personal are very professional.

Cons: I believe many of car rental in Mexico or possible other countries there are hidden feeds. I paid for insurance but that was not enough. I ended up paying more at the counter.

Cons: Hidden fees (20% higher when they force you to pay in pesos, Mexicain liability insurance, etc.)

Cons: They charged me $287 more than my booking was supposed to be.

Pros: Mex rent a car were awful about the insurance. They lied, manipulated the conversation and overcharged. NEVER AGAIN to use, recommend… It’s verging on criminal.

Cons: Unorganized; agent not in terminal office; shuttle can delayed; overcharged; payments not communicated clearly; took an hour to get a car; written up for some hidden, unwarranted scrape underneath the car.

Cons: Waited about 15min before someone said I could by pass the line for the return make sure you ask or you'll wait for no reason also make sure all Fluids are topped up as there was no winshild wash in car guy helping me topped it up with a water hose

Cons: I reserved a Sienna and they only had a KIA. We payed a deposit and they didn’t honor it. I then payed for three weeks and the vans electrical was malfunctioning. We returned the Van the next day and they didn’t refund us the whole amount. It’s was a horrible experience

Cons: I got strong armed on insurance, they had stickers on front and sign on license plate saying carmex ,this makes you a target of mexican police

Pros: Car had a modern nav system that uses Apple Car Play. Great shuttle service.

Cons: I paid $660USD out the door instead of the $161 I was quoted. Usually with the insurance I only pay twice the quoted price, but Mex charged me $500 more. Never using Discovercars or Mex ever again. Next time I'm staying with Europcar because they've been reliably fair.

Cons: I feel I was scammed on the insurance by MEX - see my previous comments. They told me if there was an accident with the insursnce I had through Discovery, I would have to settle everything in cash with MEX and and third party involved and then try to get the money back through Discovery Cars. They charged me ~CAD$850 instead of ~CAD$450 quoted by Discovery Cars.

Cons: Absolutely ridiculous that you are made to pay a "required" insurance cover which costs more than the rental itself and then only covers 3rd party. This was not advertised when booking the rental through the agency

Cons: They charged me triple what I thought it was costing.

Cons: They refused to let the car go without “mandatory” insurance that cost 28$ per day. They did not honor the daily rate of the car that was booked online. They used a different exchange rate without representation that added an additional 100$ to the price of the car.

Cons: THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME MORE THAN TWICE THE AMOUNT I OF MY RENTAL RESERVATION.

Cons: Strong arm tactics on mandating the fact that I had to buy their insurance policy.

Cons: The car had no GPS. The car was all scratched up and when I returned the car they tried to tell me I scratched it further. I was able to get out of it as I took twenty pictures and a video but they clearly are out to con people.

Pros: Rental desk was very polite and gave me an extra discount for using their services many times.

Cons: pick-up and drop-off was a pain.. only one person doing everything and this includes driving the shuttle to and from the airport! (Puerto Vallarta airport)

Cons: They adduced that what I paid when I reserved the rental was unnecessary insurance sold by Discover Cars and had to pay 100% more than the quote I got.

Cons: Didn't receive the car. They wouldn't give it to me because they wanted to charge me an additional $280 and would only let me get out of paying it if I went to one of their "presentations"

Cons: Shouldn't support this business, all scams with over the top insurance prices that was deceitfully hidden in original purchase.

Cons: The car I received was quite new but had so much damage. I’m a person used to driving nice vehicles without a bunch scratches and dents.

Pros: Service was o.k. Abnoxious guy trying to push me into other things while deciding to rent a Not So Good Car. He wasn't even behind the counter. He helped bring my bags up stairs. I had to tell him to get out of my face!

Cons: This guy just written about and the car was bashed up. I wasn't sure I should take it due to returning and them keeping my money for cleaning. They weren't bothered by the side but charged me for the uncleanliness on the inside. It was sandy and a little spillage on the seat. Normal wear and tear with a kid. Also, we were charged mandatory $25 a day for insurance, even though we had insurance. This doubled the price!

Pros: Nothing, they didn’t have a car for me

Cons: Zero, no car, no service

Cons: Wasn't open at time of drop off, no info of where to drop it and no after hour drop box.
