MEX RENT A CAR at Puerto Vallarta Airport

Pros: The car was fine.

Cons: Terrible service. Also, they quoted one price before the rental but actual cost was different. I now see why Mex gets poor reviews and will not use them again.

Pros: They were very helpful with questions asked.

Cons: Being told and shown that the "Full car coverage" had been cancelled and I would get a refund of that amount within 14 days and then it didn't happen and Discover Cars denies having a cancelation and kept my money.

Cons: They charge on invoice in USD then at desk they convert to pesos and mark up the price by 15 percent,so why not just charge in pesos,this is a rip off fee ,and then also got charged more than what was quoted on email ,asked why they just said it's for taxes but this was included.

Pros: Nothing. I didn't like being lied to and told to come back later even though there was no car or even a plan on how to get the car. The staff wouldn't even let me wait in the waiting area nore would they let me use the phone to contact discover.com or confirm to discover that there were no cars

Cons: There was no car to pick up when I arrived nore would there be the mex rent a car company knew this but still told me to come back. They were very dishonest and very un helpful.

Cons: They told me to come back the next day to get car I rented. I came back every day for 3 days and they just kept making up excuses until I gave up

Pros: Not much really. They are rude. And its always bad when they tell you that you MUST buy insurance and pay extras that are mandatory but were not considered in the price.

Cons: Surprise extra charges that were mandatory due local regulations. And they ended up giving me a smaller car than the reserved one. With no reimburse of the difference.

Cons: When we check this company online it said 3rd party liability was included but we were charged this at the time of pick up. Not sure why ?

Cons: My reserved vehicle was rented to someone else. I did not get reimbursed.

Cons: They tried ti scam us with engine motor and rip us off at drop off. The worst experience! Discover car is also scammed us but showing us a low number then mex car took quadraple amount.

Cons: I was told that I had to pay for additional insurance which I thought I had already paid for when I signed up on the website.

Pros: I made a call to Discover because I've rented in PV numerous times. I got full coverage from them. They said no more insurance would be needed. I still had to spend $250 more at the Mex Car rental.

Pros: They only had a one man to revive the cars back, same guys inspected the car with new clients and was also the driver to and from the airport. We lost 1 hour dropping our rental

Cons: I believe many of car rental in Mexico or possible other countries there are hidden feeds. I paid for insurance but that was not enough. I ended up paying more at the counter.

Pros: Mex rent a car were awful about the insurance. They lied, manipulated the conversation and overcharged. NEVER AGAIN to use, recommend… It’s verging on criminal.

Cons: Waited about 15min before someone said I could by pass the line for the return make sure you ask or you'll wait for no reason also make sure all Fluids are topped up as there was no winshild wash in car guy helping me topped it up with a water hose

Cons: I reserved a Sienna and they only had a KIA. We payed a deposit and they didn’t honor it. I then payed for three weeks and the vans electrical was malfunctioning. We returned the Van the next day and they didn’t refund us the whole amount. It’s was a horrible experience

Cons: I got strong armed on insurance, they had stickers on front and sign on license plate saying carmex ,this makes you a target of mexican police

Pros: Car had a modern nav system that uses Apple Car Play. Great shuttle service.

Cons: I paid $660USD out the door instead of the $161 I was quoted. Usually with the insurance I only pay twice the quoted price, but Mex charged me $500 more. Never using Discovercars or Mex ever again. Next time I'm staying with Europcar because they've been reliably fair.

Cons: I feel I was scammed on the insurance by MEX - see my previous comments. They told me if there was an accident with the insursnce I had through Discovery, I would have to settle everything in cash with MEX and and third party involved and then try to get the money back through Discovery Cars. They charged me ~CAD$850 instead of ~CAD$450 quoted by Discovery Cars.

Cons: Absolutely ridiculous that you are made to pay a "required" insurance cover which costs more than the rental itself and then only covers 3rd party. This was not advertised when booking the rental through the agency

Cons: They refused to let the car go without “mandatory” insurance that cost 28$ per day. They did not honor the daily rate of the car that was booked online. They used a different exchange rate without representation that added an additional 100$ to the price of the car.

Cons: The car had no GPS. The car was all scratched up and when I returned the car they tried to tell me I scratched it further. I was able to get out of it as I took twenty pictures and a video but they clearly are out to con people.

Pros: Rental desk was very polite and gave me an extra discount for using their services many times.

Cons: pick-up and drop-off was a pain.. only one person doing everything and this includes driving the shuttle to and from the airport! (Puerto Vallarta airport)

Cons: They adduced that what I paid when I reserved the rental was unnecessary insurance sold by Discover Cars and had to pay 100% more than the quote I got.

Cons: The car I received was quite new but had so much damage. I’m a person used to driving nice vehicles without a bunch scratches and dents.

Pros: Service was o.k. Abnoxious guy trying to push me into other things while deciding to rent a Not So Good Car. He wasn't even behind the counter. He helped bring my bags up stairs. I had to tell him to get out of my face!

Cons: This guy just written about and the car was bashed up. I wasn't sure I should take it due to returning and them keeping my money for cleaning. They weren't bothered by the side but charged me for the uncleanliness on the inside. It was sandy and a little spillage on the seat. Normal wear and tear with a kid. Also, we were charged mandatory $25 a day for insurance, even though we had insurance. This doubled the price!

Pros: Nothing, they didn’t have a car for me

Cons: Zero, no car, no service

Cons: Wasn't open at time of drop off, no info of where to drop it and no after hour drop box.
