Pros: The guys in the office were clear.

Cons: Once again, the pricing advertised is nowhere near the price you pay. It's a total joke, with so many different whats, ifs and maybes that you might as well advertise that you pay me to drive the bloody thing - I'd still end up paying well over what the adverts say. There's always a reason, but there's never a clear way of finding out what you're going to pay before you get to the office. I find this hugely disappointing and entirely unprofessional.

Pros: Car was good, clean and new.

Cons: Surly service from GreenMotion desk. Good service when I picked up car (so happened the person serving me was friendly but noticed others were not so friendly), but surly on return of the car. it's very simple... just have a smile, or be a bit warmer when dealing with customers. Make the customer feel they are being helped!!! It felt that we were doing Green Motion desk staff a favour!!!

Cons: The amount the booked online was tripled at the end, and also we had to pay additional 70GBP to lower the deposit as my card didn't have enough balance to lock out 1200 GBP which wasn't stated before

Pros: Nothing to like

Cons: Green motion is a disgrace. They did not respect even the basic provisions of social distancing, breathing and talking on each other's face and on their customers' during the COVID pandemic. They made customers wait for hours, spending 30+ minutes per customer. Once complained, a man came out and bullied two customers ('you cannot behave like adults'), refusing to honour the rental agreement. Border line illegal, risky and huge waste of time. I am escalating the matter with the authorities.

Pros: Environmentally conscious

Cons: Tire had a slow leak, possibly when we picked it up. We needed to replace tire on our last day and so were unable to return at time specified. Instead or receiving a day’s grace, we were made to pay for another day. Because tires were not covered by Green Motion’s insurance plan, we paid out of pocket. I am pursuing a refund for the additional day but have not had a response yet.

Pros: Almost nothing, return was easy and the employee there was friendly and reasonable to work with.

Cons: Where to begin: Wouldn’t let me use my Visa because it did not have an embossed number, which created serious issues. Incredibly slow checkout (50 mins from my arrival to departure), unreasonable requirements (clean car before returning?!), tank was only 1/4 full. I could go on. Worst car rental experience of dozens I’ve had in recent years.

Cons: Had to wait quite a while when picking up the car (after paperwork was completed). Also, as noted above, wasn't able to re-rent car without driving 70 miles to the office.

Rental Conditions

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 500 miles per rental, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: ~€ 1815.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, State Tax.
Mileage policy
Mileage is limited to 100 miles per day.
For each additional mile an additional charge of 0.30 GBP per mile will apply.

Mileage limitations will apply if the car is to be used for crossing country borders.
Mileage will be limited to 100 miles per day for the entire rental period.
For each additional mile an additional charge of 0.50 GBP per mile will apply.
It is possible to purchase the Unlimited Mileage option for an extra charge of 7.80 GBP per day.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in Latin, Roman alphabet.
Licences issued in non-EU are not accepted.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, USA.
Driver licenses from the following country(ies): China will be accepted only if the translation is approved by the Consulate or Embassy. Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP). In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.
In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of entry/exit into/out of the country, bank statement or utility bill, boarding pass.
The following document(s): proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill), bank statement or utility bill must not be older than 4 months.
ID documents must be hard copies; documents held on mobile devices will not be accepted.
Please note that provisional driver license won’t be accepted. Licences issued in Albania, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Fiji, Gabon, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lesotho, Libya, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Samoa, Senegal, South Africa, South Korea, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Philippines, Eswatini, Haiti, Niger, Pakistan, Suriname, Afganistan, Mauritania, Indonesia, Iraq, Burkina Faso, Papua New Guinea, Zambia, Guyana, Rwanda, Palestina, North Korea, Dominica, Eritrea, Tonga, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Arab Countries, Gambia, Mali, Guinea, Somalia, Burundi are not accepted.
Certain professional groups, such as rally drivers, are not permitted to rent a vehicle.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Additional excess conditions may apply for drivers who hold a licence from the following country(ies): Australia, Canada, USA.

In the event of damages to the car, without providing a police report, CDW and any other additional protection become voided.
The driver is fully responsible for the cost of the repairs for any damage to the mirrors, tires, undercarriage and all mechanical parts of the vehicle. This is not limited to the excess amount.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: MasterCard, Visa.
The following payment methods are not accepted for payment: American Express, Cash, Debit cards.
All credit cards must be capable of the following: CHIP verification, PIN verification, Embossed; cards without this capability will not be accepted.
Credit card must be valid after rental period for at least 60 days.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Unlimited mileage.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Details are available from the rental company's reservation office.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information

The vehicle must be returned in an acceptably clean condition in order to avoid additional charges.
Please note that the rental company will check for any endorsements or penalties (traffic offenses or penalty points) on renter's driver license and that renter may be refused the car if there have been any in the last 5 years.

Winter tires are recommended during the winter season but are not mandatory.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 240 minutes.
