Pick-up instructions
San Francisco Airport provides AirTrains from all terminals to the Rental Car Center. The RED line AirTrain runs between terminals. The BLUE line AirTrain runs from the terminals to the Rental Car Center. Airport signs will direct you to the train boarding areas. The AirTrains run approximately every 4-5 minutes. Upon arrival at the Rental Car Center on the AirTrain follow the signs to Shuttle Island 2 outside the building and board the FOX shuttle for a short ride to our rental counter.

Pros: A brand new car

Cons: They did not give advise about important driving details eg whether it was petrol or diesel. Would have liked more advise about tolls. The service was rushed.

Cons: SF location desk tried to sell me an upgrade car, I refused, he gave me a lousy car with many scratch spots, so I spent 20 mins to write down the dpots and also took pictures. Then drove about 20 mins, I heard some tiny noise from the bottom. My husband said that I was insane. ( I am a music teacher who has perfect ears) then when arrived half moon bay, I lied down on the ground to check the bottom of the car. A piece of something didn’t tied so it hit the ground and made a scratch sound.

Pros: Good quality car

Cons: The extreme price gouging for the basic required third-party insurance, and the super long queue at pick-up time. They also tried to charge me for returning the car without a full tank even though I had prepaid for fuel.

Pros: I really liked how friendly and helpful the agent was when he helped me. He was very understanding when I stated that I was not comfortable with the jeep wrangler upgrade. He even canceled the early return fees, and he helped me get a Honda economy car instead.

Cons: I did not like how long it took while waiting in line. Although, it is understood when people have a lot of questions to ask.

Pros: The person helping me was very good and helpful

Cons: There was one services person at the check in counter just talking with the customer causing people in line to wait way to long to be waited on. This counter person talked for about 30 minutes and then left the counter for some reason. People in line were not happy at all with this person.

Pros: It was quick to drop off the car.

Cons: Long queue. Slow staff. They added on insurance and charged us for it without asking whether we wanted it. It took 3 hours to get a working car. The first car had technical issues and did not drive safely on the highway. The second car had documentation that didn't match the licence plate so we couldn't get it out of the rental car centre (security would not let us pass). The 3rd car was not the type of car we wanted but we were desperate to leave. The cars all had a lot of mileage and scratches

Pros: Clean and new car.

Cons: Did not include compulsory insurance in the price they quoted us which meant we had an extra $56 dollars to pay when we arrived. Quite rude attendents when we dropped off the car - more interested in watching sport on their phone than answering our questions.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, First additional driver, Loss Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick up), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Vehicle registration fee, Tourism levy, Free modifications, Total Taxes.
Rate excludes
It is possible to purchase prepaid tolls.
Prepaid tolls are available for 11.49 USD per day.
If the customer declines Prepaid Toll Service, a penalty of 15.00 USD for each toll used in addition to the cost for each paid or unpaid toll will apply.

Please note that the prepaid toll service will cover only roads operated by the PlatePass Tolling Network. In case of driving on Non-PlatePass roads, the renter will be liable for any toll, or related fines, fees, or penalties incurred during the rental period, and the renter will be charged an administrative fee of 15 USD per toll (up to maximum of 90 USD per rental).

All additional services and extras purchased at the counter are subject to concession and state taxes.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, return flight ticket, proof of entry/exit into/out of the country, 2 phone numbers (1 of which is landline). Renters from the following country(ies): USA must provide the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of liability insurance, proof of insurance that covers the rental vehicle for damage and liability, 2 phone numbers (1 of which is landline) in order to collect the car.
The following insurance type(s) Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is (are) not included for residents of Canada, USA.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) can be declined, if the renter can provide his/her own insurance. Renter must provide a proof of own insurance.
In case the customer does not have one of the insurances, mentioned above, the customer will need to purchase insurance at the counter.
If opting to self-insure, the renter must have a full coverage policy that includes the deductible, physical damage, and liability.
If choosing to self-insure, the renter must provide an insurance ID card with exact coverage shown and the same name and address as on the driver license.
The renter must provide proof of the following insurance policy(ies): Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), valid in the following country(ies): USA for the duration of the rental.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.

The deposit amount for international renters is 150 USD.

For local customers, the Security Deposit amount ranges from 500 USD to 1000 USD.
A local renter is defined as a renter who lives within 150 miles of the pickup location and who is not flying into town with a return ticket.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Geographical restrictions
Domestic one-way rentals are possible on request and for an additional charge.
International one-way rentals are not available.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following States: USA - Arizona, USA - California, USA - Colorado, USA - Idaho, USA - Kansas, USA - Nebraska, USA - Nevada, USA - New Mexico, USA - Oklahoma, USA - Oregon, USA - South Dakota, USA - Texas, USA - Utah, USA - Washington, USA - Wyoming.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following country: Mexico.
In order to travel to the following country(ies):Mexico, customer must purchase the following insurance policy(ies): Cross Border Pack.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Child seat (2-4 years of age), Personal Accident Insurance, Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Renters Liability Protection (RLP).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Underage additional drivers are also subject to a young driver fee.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/collection service is not provided.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
