Pros: Nothing. It was horrible. Staff were rude and refused to explain what the specific reasons were for failing my identity verification. I suggested I could go home to get my passport but they were adamant even that would not help.
Cons: Europcar never told me what specific qualifications I failed. Europcar never gave me the car and I had to pay DiscoverCars for services you did not deliver. Simply outrageous.
Pros: Discover Cars was totally fine, Europcar of LCY itself on the other hand - terrible.
Cons: I've used Europcar several times and generally found them to be perfectly OK. The branch at London City Airport however clearly have their own agenda. Scrounging for extra payments for cars they don't even have(!) and general deceipt tells it all. The fact they had to convene in their private office (after charging me the deposit, might I add) because they didn't know how to explain the fact they'd been caught our explains it all really. Seriously unprofessional.
Pros: They gave me a new car, but other than that, would avoid like the plague
Cons: Shocking customer service. Left waiting for 1.5 hours to pick up the car in the 30 degree heat outside. Office was closed on return even though I booked it until 7pm. No parking bays for Europcar left on return and no instructions on what to do. No phone number works for the europcar london city airport office. Rude staff.
Cons: no one to check the car in and out and check damage. there was damage on the car that wasnt listed on documents.
Pros: Nothing, the rep was rude and pushy, and we did not get our car.
Cons: Everything, the long queues, the fact our car was not there, and the endless up-selling.
Cons: I was half an hour early but was kept in the very short queue (8 people) for an hour and a half because the europcar agents were trying hard to upsell each customer a 'better car for a good price.' When I politely declined any offer, I was told that the car I booked was not available for another half an hour and that if only I was willing to pay extra for a larger car I could take something else now. There was no remorse or any attempt to address the very long queue by any of the counter agents.
