Pros: Nothing
Cons: Mess up with the booking so we lost an afternoon of our holiday, 50€ per country cross border fee (usually it's a one off fee), first car had a flat tyre, second was dirty, very old, 5000km overdue a service. Handed us a document to cross the border and told us that was what we needed, didn't tell us we also needed a green card which caused a lot of stress at the border - they implied the document they gave us was all we needed

Mileage limitations will apply if the car is to be used for crossing country borders.
