We drove to explore the whole country. The natural beauty of North Macedonia is just breathtaking. We would recommend every corner of this country. Ohrid is a must see and stay for a couple of nights. Skopje is warmer but a must see and stay for 2-3 nights. Matka lake, the Stone Dolls, Kuklika and its megaliths, the handpainted mosque of Tetovo, Stobi and Heraclea if you are into excavation sites and history..... Driving is not difficult at all here. The locals are such sensible drivers. Not so the local pedestrians though. Pedestrians have right at zebra crossing and they know to exercise their right. So be mindful of this. The motorway is excellent although it has toll points. The other roads are okay but we had to turn back once when on the R1102: it became a rubble road and very remote. So we decided to always stick with the motorway and pay the toll.
