SIXT at Los Cabos Int. Airport

Cons: When picking up my rental, the agent, Francisco, tried to upsell me on insurance- no worries. I get that. However, he went further than that and outright lied to me about my coverage with Discover Cars. He said he could see my coverage and that it didn’t cover theft and that if I had any issues I would be lose my deductible (the security deposit). I told him I knew I would need to pay Sixt and work it out with Discover Cars, but he said I would lose it completely.

Pros: We had really a great pick up service with Francisco from the airport to the office to get the car….

Cons: The only thing what upset me was when we were doing the paperwork in the office, the older lady was not so kind and polite. I know we were probably the last ones of the day because the office was closing but still she could have done better. I couldn’t almost follow her because she tried to end the work in record time. And then the last thing she said we have to pay 1.000 Eur security deposit although in the voucher form was written that we have to pay only 239 Eur. This thing should be fixed.

Pros: Service professionnel.

Pros: Gas tank was not full and it was not noted on contract.

Cons: Agent tried to make me make a deposit significantly larger than the one in my contract. He also tried hard to upsell me on insurance wven though it was included in contract.

Pros: Kind agents and helpful to solve problems

Cons: They did not reserve the car we pre-paid for (6 seater vehicle). This had to be substituted with 2 smaller cars instead. Very disruptive to travel plans.

Pros: I had heard that in Mexico car rental companies are notorious for upselling or forcing you to buy their coverage at exorbitant prices. However, with the full coverage that I had bought through Discover Car was good enough for the agent not to force us to buy more coverage.

Cons: The rental van for which we paid excessive money was is poor shape. Tires were nearly completely bald and low tire pressure light was on in the car. I noticed this before leaving the rental lot and went back to request that the agent address this. His answer was for me to stop at a gas station and fill with more air. I had no choice but to do so since there was no other van available. When I found a gas station I filled the air but within 30 minutes the light came back on.

Pros: read many horror stories about renting a car in Cabo and this was absolutely easy and everyone very helpful

Pros: Shuttle driver was waiting for us upon arrival, everyone very friendly, all spoke excellent English. Process and paperwork for pick up and drop off quick, clear, easy. Highly recommend!!

Pros: My friend dropped her passport in the car and they drove it to the airport for her!! Also friendly, quick, easy service at pickup and drop off, no up charges.

Pros: easy of making reservation; smooth pick up and drop off of vehicle; no surprises with the contract; friendly & efficient staff!

Cons: The Cabo airport is mostly a scam - wish I would have been warned to just go outside.

Pros: We booked sixt through discover cars because it had great reviews. It did not disappoint from pick up at the airport to our great driver Ceasar dropping us back of the whole experience was top notch...

Pros: They were very patient and flexible when we had a problem with my credit card.

Cons: The pick-up instructions weren't clear. It showed in-terminal but the actual location was a bit further. We had to call them to get a shuttle to the pick-up location (5 min drive).

Pros: Friendly staff good communication, they waited for me after closing time when my flight was delayed

Pros: The employees were professional, there were no time share guys there that were trying to make $1,000’s of dollars off me, they honored the Mexican insurance I had purchased online through discover cars. There was no hassle upon return with some damage they wanted to pin on me. I have rented in Cabo many times, and most of the time has been a nightmare, this was perfect. I will rent through discover cars with sixt every time from now on!

Cons: Took a while to get a shuttle, had to call internationally for a pick up at the airport. I had a different charge than what was quoted at the end, a variance of $150 dollars. I kept my receipt so they switched to the original amount.

Cons: The car already had a broken tail light when picked up. A tire went flat and there was no support from Sixt and their instructions to get it patched were fine but then the people handling pickup were angry about the manner of the patch. Then, we got rear ended close to the rental place when returning it and when we called for advice, Sixt hung up and did not call back then claimed ignorance when we showed up with the damaged car because our flight was hours away.

Pros: Friendly agent who spoke English. Pricing was as quoted at the time of the reservation

Cons: Vehicle has waring light came on. Just glitches, I guess.

Pros: We got a larger car than we ordered without extra cost

Cons: We got a flat tire due to a nail, and we didn't feel the spare was safe to drive on because it had big blister on the side..... so we had to get service from Sixt which caused some delays, etc.

Cons: The guy that brought the car was on the take and asked for an additional $40 us to give me a bigger car, claiming that the one I ordered was too small. I ordered a mid sized car & that’s what I got after paying the additional $40. A minor scam…

Pros: They were polite and nice. They are also accommodating with my hours that changed with travel. The first car there gave me was on its last leg and i didn’t feel safe at all. I called and i was able to exchange it with no problems.

Cons: Upon arrival at the airport in Cabo it was chaos. We waited over 20 minutes to be picked up by the company and all the while being harassed by all the other companies at the airport. I was a single female with my 9 year old so it was not fun. They knew I was going to be traveling a distance and gave me a very bad vehicle at first. It was very old and not in good working order.

Cons: the gas station attendant didnt quite fill the tank to the top and not knowing the gas gauage on a different car didnt know it wasnt filled properly so got knocked for a gallon i guess etc
