Pros: Nothing, they tried to cover damage with a dusty hood and attempted to claim that i damaged the vehicle.

Cons: I took a video beforehand which shows apparent damage under dust on the hood, Goldcar claim that i have damaged the vehicle despite the damage preceding my rental. Additionally they took a 1,600 Euro deposit!

Pros: Great service, good clean car, fair cost. Good level of English to complete car hire.

Cons: Had one identified mark on the car on the official car collection paperwork. However, found 3 further marks on inspection before taking away. Alerted staff member (right next to cars in Jerez airport) and digitally logged these. Although service good, would have expected other marks to have been logged. Also, despite having insurance from discover cars - still offered further insurance with them (politely declined).

Pros: Ease of drop off.

Cons: The agent was abrupt. I had previously purchased car insurance and confirmed my rental included unlimited mileage. The agent said the insurance I purchased would not be accepted by Gold Car. She also said my rental did not include unlimited mileage.

Cons: The lines were extremely long, the service was sub par and the block on my credit card was over $2000. Without the credit card block my option went from a $60 rental to over $400!

Pros: Friendly and efficient representative. Accommodating on return of vehicle to airport off-hours. Brand new car.

Cons: Charges continue to be pending and nothing seems to match up to the quote. Rental desk was not at the airport terminal despite information to the contrary. It took some time to figure that out and then had to get a ride to the rental counter. Disappointed that AMEX wasn't accepted as this would have covered my insurance.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 1250 km per rental, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 2300.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Free modifications, Environmental Contribution fee, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A novice driver fee will apply to drivers who have held their driver license for less than 4 years.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP). Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.
Deposit and deductible policy
Fuel deposit prices can vary depending on the car model and market fuel prices in force when collecting the car.
Cross-border policy
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, France, Italy, Portugal, Gibraltar.
Written permission from the rental company is required.
Crossing country borders is allowed by previous request and for an additional charge of 13.20 EUR per day, with a maximum charge of 171.60 EUR per rental.
Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company. Vehicles may not be taken to the following islands: Ibiza, Formentera Island.
The purchase of the following insurance(s): Cross Border Pack is mandatory.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.


Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.

For electric vehicles: the customer will receive the vehicle totally charged, and it is NOT necessary to return it with a full charge.
A full battery lasts around 150 km (this is an estimate as it depends on several factors).
If the customer runs out of battery and is stranded with the vehicle, requiring help from our roadside assistance, please keep in mind that this service is not covered by the rental insurance nor by any additional policy (the customer is always liable for all costs involved).
Additional information
Winter tires are not mandatory in Spain.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 28 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 6 hours after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
