Pros: At least dropping off at the end was painless.

Cons: The wait at the counter in Lihue was OVER TWO HOURS! It delayed the start of our vacation and cast a pall over what had otherwise been a smooth trip. There was no sense of urgency. Most of the wait was outdoors breathing fumes from asphalt. The men’s bathroom was out of order and the vending machines had no drinks. It was a nightmare. I will never rent from Dollar again. Travelers should book direct w Alamo or National which had people in and out on the way to their destinations quickly

Rental Conditions

Rate includes

Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax, Customer Facility Charge (CFC), Surcharges.

Driver requirements

Minimum rental age is 20 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.

Deposit and deductible policy

A deposit will be held on the customer's credit card.
At the time of pick up customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.

Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Fuel policy

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, for rates that include Fuel Purchase Option the first tank of gas is included. Customers do not have to refuel the vehicle prior to return.

Rental period

The maximum rental period per agreement is 62 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.

Business hours

Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
