Came in a bad timing with snow storms back to back. Luckily, the car we rented was reliable so we survived our March winter road trip. Other than that, Iceland is a beautiful country. We will be back again to see East and North and Highland parts and hopeful will spot Norther light in our next trip. If come in March or winter time, definitely we will take a tour not self driving road trip. The stress level is too high to drive through blizzard condition.

We mostly drove in the flatlands taking the paved and gravel roads. The car we had was not for the F-roads anyway. We managed to visit many attractions in the golden circle, drove along the southern ocean drive, as well as the western peninsula. The experience was fantastic.

The waterfalls are all amazing to look at, it's worth doing some research to find others that aren't so tourist filled e.g. Faxifoss - amazing and not on many of the recommended pages. There's also Kerid crater, various cave/landscape locations around the black sand beach. Reykjavik is lovely and well worth trying to find a more traditionally icelandic place to eat, Íslenski barinn was a great little restaurant I could recommend.

A trip to Iceland at the end
The month of June when there is no darkness and with stunning views, waterfalls, volcanoes (Askia), geothermal pools at temperatures ranging from 38-44 degrees Celsius that you can enter and enjoy for free!!! and a lot of walking (it is not possible to reach it by car until the attraction positive sports activity I have also encountered people with adults who have difficulty walking) walking and if the option is given to travel on off-road roads a highly recommended experience to be in Iceland
