We had a rented Villa near Chania. We are looking for a house to buy and have been loads of times. We only returned from Crete two weeks before this trip. For a recommendation eat at Wave Restaurant (also called Kyma) on the beach at Maleme.

it was a good trip, getting a car around crete definitely helps. I’m a very much the type of person to explore, would feel like a waste to spend 7 nights in a hotel without travelling to the other nearby towns. only downside personally for me was the food, couldn’t find a single place that served halal meat - had to eat pancakes and plain spaghetti every day🤷🏽♂️ drove more than 500 miles all over crete and filled up the tank with €60 at the end of the trip, taxis would’ve cost me more than €700 for the journeys I did so I highly recommend a car to get the most out of your holiday.

I love the freedom of a car. Go where we want when we want. Drove to Kissamos and parked up to take the Balos and Gramvousa boat tour, spent a day at Balos Beach Hotel. The views are stunning. The car helped us visit about 5 beaches along the coast with ease.
