Pros: I had 2 rentals from Locauto. The first Linate to Florence was excellent. Great car, fast pickup, and fast drop off. I already provided a review with a score of “10”. The service at Linate was Excellent for both rentals.
Cons: My second rental from Mestre to Linate was poor. We waited for an hour at the Locauto desk to pickup our car. At the garage, the agent tried to give us a larger car than I reserved. After being persistent, we got the car we reserved and drove away after a delay of 1.5 hours. Only one agent at the desk (who was quite slow) and insisted on seeing my passport, drivers license, and international drivers license - even though I had already uploaded then on your website.
Pros: Pick up was good in Venice and the office was easy to locate at the train station.
Cons: I was charged an additional $100 when picking up car for drop off in another city. I had included that info in the reservation and was charged extra. The car had damage on both sides and the tires seemed worn. Drop off in Rome was not easy. I went to the address provided at the train station and that was only the rental office and NOT the drop off spot. We were handed a piece of paper with the drop off location which was not correct. I was charged an additional day for being an hour late.

Cons: I paid for the car rental via Discover cars but as I was late to pick up the car due my delayed flight, the company didn't save the cat for me and didn't have another car to give me and Discover cars did not reimburse me for the money I paid.

For rentals of 28 days or more, mileage is limited to 117 km per day.
Mileage is limited, there will be a surcharge for each additional km.

A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
Maximum rental age is 74 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
The driver license must be written in Latin alphabet.
A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the customer is not a resident of the following country(ies): EU.
Driver licenses from the following country(ies): China will be accepted only if the translation is approved by the Consulate or Embassy.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, address of the insurer, photocard driving license.
The deposit amount is 0.01 EUR.
Payments and deposits with the following payment method(s): Debit cards are accepted only for the following car group(s): Economy, Compact, Mini, Standard, Intermediate, Fullsize.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: American Express, Union Pay, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom, European Union.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.

There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
During winter season (from 15.11. until 15.04.) Snow chains are included in price.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.

Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
In order to have service out of hours, the renter must provide the following information: Flight number, train number.
A maximum of 59 minutes is available for service outside of business hours.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
