I will always rent when my family go to Malaysia for ease and comfort. Finding the car rental area within KLIA is not easy. It is not well signposted by KLIA. I found it without getting lost only after my 4th time renting a car.
Stick to the speed limit on the highways; the whole car vibrated and started to veer course if you don't!
