I hiked about 2/3 of Gwaneumesa Trail on Mount Hallasan. I had planned to hike to the summit but the ticket taker informed me I needed snow cleats to get to the top. In all my reading on Reddit and on the Mount Hallasan National Park webpage I did not see where cleats are required. I was disappointed as was a young couple from Canada who came down right after me and had not seen that requirement anywhere before arriving.
I saw Cheondiyeon and Jeongbang Waterfalls, Seongsang Ilchilban and Sprited Gardens.

I returned the car after an hour because I was unaccustomed to left hand driven cars. But the trip was fabulous! Jeju is without a doubt one of the nicest place to visit and indeed deserves its position on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Jeju is amazing, and we were most impressed with the beautiful waterfalls! We stayed in Seogwipo, and it was a perfect spot for us - close to breathtaking views, but also near a big market (Seogwipo Olle Market) and the Arang Joeul Food Street. Some places were closed for Chuseok, but we still managed to go to some nice local restaurants and of course the 24h convenience stores and 24h cafes never let us down.
We also recommend Camellia Hill botanical garden with their early autumn garden (no camellias in bloom, but a HUGE field of pink muhly, ruby muhly, and pampas grass - Instagram worthy 100%).
We want to come back to Jeju one day :)
