Madrid est également une ville de parcs : le Retiro est parfait pour se promener ou faire du bateau. Le Temple de Debod, d’origine égyptienne, est un excellent spot pour le coucher de soleil, avec vue sur la cathédrale de l’Almudena, une autre visite à ne pas manquer.
Pour une ambiance plus locale et animée, explorez les quartiers de Malasaña, Chueca ou Lavapiés, où se côtoient petites places, street art, marchés couverts et vie nocturne.
Circulation et stationnement
Comme dans beaucoup de grandes villes, la circulation est dense, surtout aux heures de pointe. Une grande partie du centre est piétonne ou soumise à des restrictions environnementales (zone “Madrid Central”).
Le stationnement dans la rue est pratiquement partout payant et limité dans le temps. De nombreux parkings souterrains sont disponibles en centre-ville. En périphérie, on trouve plus facilement des places gratuites. Si vous séjournez un peu en dehors du centre, louer une voiture reste pratique pour se déplacer et se garer plus facilement.

- Tolède : à 1h de route, cette ville médiévale classée à l’UNESCO est entourée par le Tage. On l’appelle la ville des 3 cultures car elle mélange la culture chrétienne, juive et musulmane.
- Ségovie : à 1h15 au nord, connue pour son aqueduc romain parfaitement conservé, son château de conte de fées et… son célèbre cochon de lait rôti, que les Madrilènes adorent venir déguster en famille ou entre amis.
- La Granja de San Ildefonso : à deux pas de Ségovie, c’est un palais royal entouré de jardins à la française (inspirés de Versailles). Un vrai bijou, souvent oublié des circuits classiques.
- El Escorial : à seulement 50 minutes de route, ce gigantesque monastère-palais est une construction de la Renaissance espagnole, à la fois austère et majestueux.
- Sierra de Guadarrama : un parc naturel protégé et idéal pour randonner ou prendre un bol d’air frais. Pins, lacs, sommets… le tout à 1h30 du centre-ville.
- Les champs de lavande de Brihuega : à environ 1h30 de route, ces étendues violettes en fleur en juillet rappellent la Provence, mais version castillane.
