What to do once I get to my car?

You have your keys and are almost ready to hit the road. Before you drive off, taking just five minutes to inspect the car is a wonderful way to help ensure a smooth, worry-free drop-off later.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Walk Around & Snap Photos
Take a quick look around the exterior and interior for any little scratches, dents, or stains. Snapping a few clear photos or a quick video of the entire car (including the wheels and windshield) is super helpful to have on hand! 
If you happen to spot any damage that isn't already listed on your rental agreement, simply ask the agent to add a quick note for you before you leave.

2Check the Fuel Cap Flap
It's always a great idea to open the fuel door to confirm whether the car takes Petrol or Diesel. 
Relying on the label right inside the fuel cap flap (rather than the key tag) is the easiest way to make sure you're using the right fuel for your trip! 
Also, take a quick peek at the dashboard gauge to ensure the tank level matches your contract (which is usually Full).

3Test the Basics
Go ahead and start the engine to make sure there are no warning lights popping up. 
It never hurts to check that the air conditioning, lights, and wipers are working nicely, too! 
If you notice any mechanical hiccups or dashboard warnings, just let the desk know and ask if they can provide a different vehicle for your peace of mind.

4Save the Number
Keep the rental supplier's Breakdown Assistance number handy, just in case you ever need a little help while out on the road.
