Sardinia could be on the cusp of doing a 'Majorca' to itself. Beware of over cooking tourism without the necessary upgrades to housing (probably social\local) and infrastructure, which everyone across the planet forgets. This trip (our second) was especially enjoyable because we felt we were invited into the community, which was an absolute honour and privilege.

We were unlucky with the weather as it rained a few days and was quite windy. Would definitely recommend hiring a car so you can get to see more of the island. We stayed in Cannigione. We went canyoning and on a sailboat trip and visited some lovely beaches

Everywhere, except for one restaurant, was very pleasnat with good, helpful and friendly service. That one restaurant was probably quite good but I think they just had a bad day (in the kitchen) and it did spoil our evening. The staff were not so helpful as in other places.
The sea and beaches were fantastic. The roads generally OK but some needed repair. The Italian style of driving takes some getting used to! No speed limit is observed anywhere by the locals. It is generally surpassed by double or even treble what the sign says! Finally , to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the island care hire is a must. We drove the whole length of Sardinia twice.

Sardinia is a great place to visit. Visited various beaches which were amazing. There are public beaches almost everywhere.
I would recommend to always hire a car when in Sardinia as there are many places to visit and public transport is limited.

Great beaches in Sardinia - Isuluda, Lu Impostu and Don Diego our personal favs. Don’t park a hire car at Porto Istana beach our hire car got broken into on our last trip even though car park is provided!! Rocket to pizza fantastic in Olbia. Car essential for where we stayed Grande Baia.

Sardinia has an abundance of beautiful unspoilt beaches, as well as interesting historical sites such as the Roman ruins at Nora, and the amazing Nuraghi with 4000 year old towers. And the fish and seafood are to die for.
