What is the mileage policy for my rental?

Your specific mileage policy is detailed in the "Rate Includes" section of your offer and clearly printed on your Booking Voucher. It will be categorised as either "Unlimited Mileage" or a specific limit (e.g., 200 km per day).

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Check your Voucher

Locate the section labelled "Mileage" or "Rate Includes" in your confirmation email or via the My Booking portal.

2Understand the Limit
  • Unlimited: You can drive as much as you like within the rental country without extra mileage fees.
  • Limited: You will see an allowance like "200 km per day" or "1500 km per rental."
3Cumulative Allowance

If you have a limited policy, your total allowance is cumulative for the entire trip
For example, a 3-day rental at 200 km per day gives you 600 km to use freely throughout the rental period. It is not a strict cap per 24-hour window.

4Avoid Extra Charges

Upon return, the rental company will check your odometer. If you exceed your total cumulative limit, a fee will apply for each extra kilometer or mile as specified in your rental agreement.

Expectation:

"I have unlimited mileage, so I can drive anywhere."

Reality:

Unlimited mileage usually applies only within the country where you picked up the car. Crossing state lines or international borders may change the policy to "Limited" or incur extra fees. Always check the "Cross-border travel" terms in your Rental Conditions if you plan to leave the country.

💡Did You Know?

Extra kilometers can get costly, as per-kilometer fees are often higher than the original rental rate. For long-term rentals (28+ days), check for "Fair Use" clauses in the supplier's terms, which may cap total distance to prevent commercial use.

What To Do Next:

If you need more miles than your current policy allows, contact us before your rental starts.
We may be able to modify your booking to a car category with Unlimited Mileage.
