I changed my name. Will you accept with different names on them?
To pick up your rental car, the Main Driver’s name on your Booking Voucher, Driver’s License, and Credit Card must match exactly. If these names do not align, you should update your booking before travel to avoid being denied at the rental desk.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Lay out your Driver’s License and the physical Credit Card you’ll use for the security deposit.
If your License shows a new name but your Credit Card still has the old name (or vice versa), the rental supplier may refuse to release the car.
If your License and Credit Card match each other but differ from your Booking Voucher, log in to Manage Booking and select "Modify Booking" to update the name on your reservation.
Ensure you receive a new voucher showing the correct legal name before arriving at the rental counter.
"I can just bring my marriage certificate or legal name change decree to the counter to prove who I am."
Many suppliers strictly enforce the exact name match policy for insurance and banking security. Relying on a certificate is risky and may result in a No-Show. It’s safer to ensure your booking name matches your ID and Credit Card.
💡Did You Know?
Rental suppliers cannot accept a credit card belonging to anyone other than the Main Driver, even a spouse.
To use a card in someone else’s name, that person must be listed as the Main Driver on the rental contract.
