Great island. Definitely need to hire a car and be prepared for driving on narrow, twisting, hilly roads. However it was safe and traffic, in general is light, during the week. Friday and Saturday a little busy on coastal roads. Would also suggest boat trips to get to some beaches and take good hiking/walking shoes for off the beaten track.
