We hebben een eenvoudige Fiat Panda gehuurd. Dit was een prima auto, voor als je een kind (of 2) mee wilt nemen op reis. We zijn steile hellingen opgereden, dit moest grotendeels in z'n 1e of 2e versnelling, maar je kwam er zeker! We hebben veel gezien. Mooie uitzichtpunten bezocht en het hele Eiland Zakynthos over gereden. Wat is het heerlijk om niet afhankelijk te zijn, niet je kind in een taxi te hoeven zetten, zonder kinderzitje en gewoon kan gaan en staan waar je wilt. Parkeren ging vrijwel overal goed en het rijden in Griekenland, viel mij erg mee. Is opletten als je er voor het eerst bent, en er zijn best wat speltbochten, waardoor de aangegeven snelheden prettig zijn om aan te houden.
Kortom, fijne vakantie gehad, mooie stranden bekeken en uitgeprobeerd, cocktails gedronken, excursies gehad naar Turtle Island, Cameo Island, Shipwreck beach, blue caves en nog een hele hoop meer.

Wij hebben 9 van de 14 dagen op Zakynthos een auto gehuurd en dat is echt een verademing. Je bent dan veel vrijer om te gaan en staan waar je wilt. Er zijn zoveel mooie stranden, baaien en bezienswaardigheden om te bezoeken. Xigia sulfur beach, Shipwreck beach, blue caves, Gerakas, Dafni beach, Cameo Island, Kalamki beach (voor kleine kinderen ideaal), Plakaki beach, uiteten bij Cave Damianos (schitterend uitzicht en fantastisch lekker eten), Alykes beach etc.

Ongeveer het hele eiland gezien. Opletten op de plaatselijke verkeersregels omdat die afwijken van de gebruikelijke verkeersregels. Bij het vliegveld huren is het gemakkelijkste en voordeligste.
