How much is the security deposit?
The security deposit amount depends on the car category and the local supplier you choose.
Since this varies for every trip, the Rental Conditions are the best place to find the most accurate estimate.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Just open your confirmation email or log in to the "My Booking" section on our website.
Click the link for "Rental Conditions" or "Important Information".
Scroll to the "Payment" or "Deposit" section to see the estimated amount.
Make sure the main driver brings a physical credit card with enough available funds to cover this hold at pick-up.
"I bought Full Coverage online, so I don't need to leave a security deposit at the desk."
Full Coverage is a reimbursement policy that protects you after your trip; because the local supplier cannot "see" this in their system, they still require a standard security deposit hold on your card to release the car.
"I can use any payment method, like a debit card or cash, to leave my deposit since I already paid for the rental."
While online payment rules are flexible, pick-up deposit rules are strict: most suppliers require a physical credit card in the main driver's name and cannot accept debit cards, prepaid cards, or cash for the security deposit.
💡 Did You Know?
The security deposit is usually just a temporary "hold" rather than an actual charge. The money stays right in your account, it's just paused for the duration of your trip!
Once you return the car safely, the hold typically releases within 21 business days (about 30 calendar days), depending on how quickly your bank processes things.
