If I change my booking, will the price change?
Yes, the price may change. When you modify a booking, the system recalculates the total based on the supplier’s current live rates, rather than the price available when the booking was originally made.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Before committing to any changes, access your reservation through the My Booking section.
Enter your new pick-up/drop-off times, dates, or choose a preferred car category.
The system will instantly display a new total price and available vehicles.
- If the price is higher, you will be asked to pay the difference to confirm the change.
- If the price is lower, the total cost decreases:
- For fully prepaid bookings, the difference may be refunded to your original payment method.
- For partially prepaid bookings, the remaining pay-at-desk balance will simply be lower.
If the updated price works for you, confirm the change.
If not, you can simply cancel the modification process and keep your original booking exactly as it is.
"I am only moving my pickup time by 2 hours, so it should be free."
Even a small change to the pick-up or drop-off time can trigger a full price recalculation if the supplier’s base rates have increased since the original booking was made. DiscoverCars does not charge any modification fees — any price difference comes solely from the supplier’s updated pricing at the time of the change.

If you made a “Partially Prepaid” booking, a decrease in the total price usually means that your “Pay at Desk” balance has been reduced. This simply means you will pay less to the rental supplier at pick-up, rather than receiving a cash refund from us now.
