How can I add additional drivers?

There's no need to worry about adding an additional driver online in advance! You can easily register them in person right at the rental desk when you pick up the car. If there happens to be a small fee, you'll simply pay it directly to the local supplier in their local currency.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Check Your Booking

Take a quick look at your voucher to see if a "Free Additional Driver" is already included in your rental price.

2Register at the Counter

Both the main driver and the additional driver will just need to be present at the rental desk to sign the paperwork together.

3Bring the Right Documents

The extra driver simply needs to present their physical driver's license and passport or ID.
They'll also need to meet the same age, driving experience, and International Driving Permit (IDP) guidelines as the main driver.

4Pay Any Fees

If an extra driver isn't already included for free, you'll just pay a standard daily "Additional Driver Fee" right at the desk.

Expectation:

"I need to add the driver online right now, or they won't be covered to drive."

Reality:

Adding a driver is actually a quick "at-the-desk" procedure, allowing the local team to easily verify everyone's license in person! If your booking already includes a free driver, clicking the "Add Driver" extra on our website might even add a fee for a second extra driver. Handling this at the counter keeps everything simple and easy.

Expectation:

"My booking includes a free additional driver, so my 22-year-old friend can drive for free."

Reality:

A "Free Additional Driver" is a great perk that waives the standard daily service fee! However, if your additional driver is under 25 (or over 70), the local supplier might still apply their standard "Young Driver" or "Senior Driver" surcharge.

Expectation:

"Only the main driver needs an International Driving Permit (IDP)."

Reality:

Anyone who plans to get behind the wheel will just need to have their own IDP, provided the destination country requires one for driving.

💡 Did You Know?

Additional drivers usually don't even need to provide a credit card! Only the main driver (the person whose name is on the reservation) needs to provide a physical credit card to hold the standard security deposit.

What To Do Next:

You don't need to take any action on our website right now! Just make sure your travel companion brings their physical license, ID, and IDP (if needed) to the rental counter, and you'll be ready to hit the road.
