What’s your cancellation policy?
If your plans change, you can cancel your booking for a full refund up to 48 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
How to cancel your reservation:
Click the “Cancel Booking” button and follow the steps.
Cancellation must be completed through before your scheduled pick-up time. Requests made directly to the rental supplier are not considered valid cancellations.
After cancellation, your funds are automatically issued as Booking Credit, linked to your email address.
If you prefer a refund to your original payment method, you can request it using the link in your cancellation confirmation email. (available for up to 1 year after cancellation)
Once requested, it usually takes 5–10 business days to process. If a booking is paid fully or partially with Booking Credit, any refund will be returned as Booking Credit.
Important:
- If cancellation is made after the scheduled pick-up time, no refund or Booking Credit will be issued. If the car is not picked up (no-show), additional fees may apply.
- If the booking was made less than 48 hours before pick-up, it is generally non-refundable, except for the coverage product (if included), which may still be issued as Booking Credit if cancelled before pick-up.
"Since I just booked yesterday for a trip tomorrow, I can cancel for free."
For last-minute bookings made less than 48 hours before pick-up, the rental cost is transferred to secure the vehicle with the supplier. In these cases, the booking is non-refundable, and only the Coverage product (if added) can be refunded in the form of Booking Credit if cancelled before pick-up.
"I can just cancel at the rental counter if the car isn't a good fit."
To process a cancellation, we need you to complete it through DiscoverCars.com before your scheduled pick-up time. If the pick-up time passes, the reservation is marked as complete, and the prepayment covers the cost of having held the car specifically for you.
💡 Did You Know?
Your Booking Credit stays valid for 3 full years and can be used for one or multiple future bookings with us.
If you choose the credit today but later change your mind, you can easily send the funds back to your original card using the handy link in your cancellation email, which is valid for one year.
