Do I get a refund if I return my car earlier?
While you're always welcome to return your car a little early, we usually aren't able to offer refunds for any unused rental days or hours.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Once you pick up the car, your rental agreement is set for that specific time frame.
You're more than welcome to return the car early during the supplier's opening hours!
There's usually no extra fee for doing this, but it's always helpful to let the local desk know in advance so they're ready for you.
The supplier will close your contract when you drop off the keys, and your original booking price will simply stay the same.
"I used the car for 3 days instead of 5, so I should get 2 days' money back."
The rental company reserved that specific vehicle just for you for the whole trip, meaning they kept it off the market for other renters. Also, car rental pricing often works in bundles (like a discounted weekly rate). Returning early changes that original package pricing!
"At least refund my Full Coverage for the days I didn't drive, or because I didn't crash."
Full Coverage works as a set package for your trip. Once you drive off the lot, the coverage is actively protecting you for the entire booked time. Because of this, it isn't refundable after pick-up, even if you head home early or have a perfectly safe trip.
💡Did you know?
Returning a car early can sometimes change how your daily rate is calculated!
If your original booking included a special "weekly rate" discount, a shorter trip might actually price out to be about the same as your original total.
What To Do Next:
If you had to return the car early due to an unexpected emergency (like a medical situation) or a mechanical breakdown, please hold on to any documentation you have.
While standard policies usually don't cover unused days, you can always reach out to our support team with your details. We'll gladly step in and share your situation with the supplier to assist you further.
