How do I make a claim?
To make a claim for your RentalCover protection, simply log in to your RentalCover account online and submit your documents directly through their portal. This process takes place right on their website, rather than through our DiscoverCars.com "My Booking" section.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Before starting your submission, ensure you have digital copies of the following:
- The signed rental agreement from pick-up.
- A photo of your driver's license.
- The final invoice from the rental company shows the exact damage charges.
- Your bank or credit card statement proving you have paid these charges.
- The damage report/checklist from the supplier.
- A police report (mandatory if a third party was involved or if required by your rental agreement).
Head over to the website. You'll just need your email address and your RentalCover reference number ending in -INS (which you can find in your separate confirmation email).
Select the "Make a Claim" option and upload your gathered documents.
The RentalCover team will review your submission. Once it's approved, they’ll email you a secure link to enter your bank details and get your payment started right away.
"If the car gets damaged, RentalCover will pay the rental company directly so I don't have to use my own money."
RentalCover works on a reimbursement model; you must pay the rental supplier for any damages first and then file a claim to be refunded by RentalCover after approval.
"I can file my damage claim and check its status through my DiscoverCars account."
Because RentalCover is a partner product, claims are handled exclusively through their dedicated portal at RentalCover.com, as our internal systems do not display their live claim stages.
