How can I make changes to my booking?

You can easily modify your booking details - such as your dates, times, location, car category, or main driver information - directly through the "My Booking" section on our website.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Wait for Confirmation

If you just placed your booking and the status still shows "Pending," please wait until you receive your confirmation email. Only confirmed bookings can be modified in the system.

2Log In

Visit our website and open the "My Booking" or "Manage Booking" section.

3Click "Modify Booking"

Locate your confirmed reservation and select "Modify Booking" to open the available options.

4Adjust Your Details

You can update details such as:

  • Pick-up or drop-off dates and times
  • Location
  • Car category
  • Main driver information
  • Extras like child seats, GPS, or flight number
5Review and Confirm

The system will automatically recalculate the price based on the supplier’s current live rates. 
If there is a difference, you will see it before confirming. Once the change is confirmed (and any price difference is paid), you will receive an updated voucher by email.

Expectation:

"The website says I can change my booking for free, so the price should stay exactly the same."

Reality:

DiscoverCars.com does not charge a modification fee. The rental supplier’s live rates may have changed since the original booking. If the new dates or car category are more expensive, you would need to pay the difference.

Expectation:

"I can easily change my booking an hour before I pick up the car."

Reality:

The deadline depends on the payment type. 

For Fully Prepaid bookings: Online modifications are strickly locked 48 hours before pick-up. 

For Partially Prepaid bookings: Changes may be possible up to 1 hour before pick-up, depending on availability.

Expectation:

"I am currently driving the rental car, but I want to keep it for two more days, so I will just modify it online."

Reality:

Once your pick-up time has passed and the rental has officially started, your contract is active with the supplier. Extensions must be arranged directly with the rental desk, not through the online system.

💡 Did You Know?

If you only need to add a flight number or request an extra (such as a GPS device or child seat), this can often be done without changing the core rental contract or affecting the rental rate. Adding your flight number is especially helpful so the supplier can track your arrival in case of airline delays.

Visit the "My Booking" portal right away to check whether your booking can be modified online. If you are less than 1 hour away from pick-up, please call the rental supplier directly using the phone number listed on your voucher.
