Can I change my booking if I have less than 48 hours before my pick-up time?

It completely depends on how you paid for your booking! 
If you have a Partially Prepaid booking, you can usually modify it online up to just 1 hour before pick-up.
However, if you have a Fully Prepaid booking, online modifications are typically strictly locked 48 hours before your pick-up time.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Check Your Payment Type

Look at your confirmation email or log in to the "My Booking" portal to see if your booking is marked as "Fully Prepaid" or "Partially Prepaid."

2Try Online First

Go to the "My Booking" section and click "Modify Booking."

If it works: Follow the steps to change your dates, car category, pick-up time, or location. 
The system will instantly show you any price difference.

If it says "Contact Support" or the option is greyed out: This means you have officially passed the online modification cutoff for your specific payment type.

3Contact the Supplier

If you are less than 1 hour away from pick-up or the system is locked, you must contact the rental supplier directly. Their phone number is printed right on your voucher.

Expectation:

"I can change my booking details anytime before I physically walk up to the counter."

Reality:

Suppliers need advance notice to prepare specific vehicles. Last-minute major changes (such as dates, location, or car category) may require canceling and rebooking entirely, which can result in strict cancellation penalties depending on how close you are to pick-up.

Expectation:

"The price will stay exactly the same if I just change the time by a few hours."

Reality:

Any modification recalculates your rental rate based on the supplier’s current live prices. Even a small time change can trigger a price increase if rates have gone up since the day you originally booked.

Expectation:

"If I call the supplier, they can just change my booking dates in the DiscoverCars system."

Reality:

Contacting the supplier is strictly for operational coordination (for example, asking them to hold the car if you are running late). They cannot officially change your contractual booking dates or prices over the phone, unless they generate a completely new rental agreement for you at the desk.

If you are simply running late for pick-up due to a flight delay, you usually do not need to officially modify your booking online. Just call the supplier directly, give them your flight number, and let them know your updated arrival time so they can try to hold the vehicle.

What To Do Next:

Go to the "My Booking" portal and check if the "Modify Booking" button is still active for your reservation. 
If it is greyed out and you are running late, call the supplier phone number listed on your voucher right away to inform them about the delay.
