Can I reinstate my canceled booking?

Once a booking has been cancelled, it cannot be reinstated or reactivated. If you still need a rental car, you'll need to make a new reservation.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Search Again

Head over to discovercars.com to search for your travel dates and location.

2Check Availability

Look for the same car or a similar model. Since rental fleets change constantly, pricing and availability might look a little different from your first search.

3Book New Reservation

Choose the option that suits your needs and complete the booking process.

4Apply Your Funds

If you received Booking Credit after cancelling your previous reservation, you can use it toward a future booking associated with the same email address.

Expectation:

"I pressed cancel by mistake 5 minutes ago, surely you can just flip the switch back."

Reality:

Once a booking has been cancelled, it cannot be reinstated. If you still need a vehicle, you'll need to create a new reservation based on the current availability.

Expectation:

"I can get my old price back."

Reality:

Rental prices change based on real-time availability. Your new reservation will reflect the current rates, which means the price might be higher (or lower!) than before.

💡 Did You Know?

Booking Credit remains valid for 3 full years and can be used for one or multiple future bookings.
If you later decide you'd prefer a refund to your original payment method, you can use the link in your cancellation confirmation email. The link remains available for up to 1 year after cancellation.
