Exit the arrivals area and walk outside the airport. Cross the pedestrian crossing on the main street to reach the car rental parking lots. Walk left towards the big yellow flags. At the yellow flags, turn right and walk straight for about 80 meters on the small road. At the end of the road, turn left. The Right Cars office is about 25 meters ahead with white, blue, and green letters. Staff will be there to help. I traveled around Crete and really enjoyed the beautiful beaches and mountain views. Visiting Balos Lagoon and Elafonissi Beach was unforgettable — the water was crystal clear and the scenery stunning. I also loved exploring the old town of Chania and trying traditional Cretan food at local tavernas. The people were friendly, and the island had an amazing mix of nature, history, and culture.

Spent 6 days in Chania after picking the car up in Heraklion. Visited the beaches along the way and walked some of the hiking trails. Highly recommend the jeep tour of Balos, which takes you to another beach that is better than Balos beach.

My trip was fantastic! We explored so many beautiful places around Crete — we visited Kissamos (where we took a boat trip to Balos), spent time in Chania, enjoyed the stunning Elafonissi beach, wandered through the village of Elos, and also visited Uptera. It was easy to book the car and the check in process was fairly easy as was the drop off process. It took a few minutes to figure out exactly where we needed to be but once we were there, very easy process. The car was a basic economy vehicle but it did the job and it made a big difference in what we were able to do and gave us a lot of flexibility with our plans.

Crete is a beautiful place to visit. Cities of Rethymnon and Chania are a must. Take your wallet, the shops are amazing. Hire a pedalo on Lake Kournas and see the nesting turtles and sea snakes, (not too many to frighten anyone). The beaches at Georgeopolou and Kalyves are beautiful.
